The Covid-19 pandemic has changed many aspects of work and life, including giving people the momentum to start their own businesses.
Fenetic Wellbeing, a provider of mobility aids to support independent living, has researched what’s on the lists of people after the pandemic.
The study involved gathering over 100 bucket list ideas and comparing bucket list search terms that were conducted online from March 2020 to March 2021. The aim of the research was to find out what has changed in relation to people’s bucket lists in the wake of the pandemic.
Starting a business on more listings of data
The main result is that more people want to start their own business. The search volume for ‘starting a business’ increased by 50% from March 2020 to March 2021.
Of the top ten things to do before your Google search term dies, starting a business comes in at number three. The “two things you must do before you die” before starting a business were “lose weight” and “visit the Great Wall of China”.
Over the course of 12 months from March 2020 to March 2021, the search term “investing in a company” increased by 21%.
Findings from Fenetic Wellbeing research show how the pandemic has changed people’s attitudes toward money and starting and running their own businesses.
As Fenetic Wellbeing notes in its report on the changing face of post-pandemic inventories: “We found more people adding money-related goals to their wishlist. During Covid-19, many people lost their jobs, were given leave, or were simply made to rethink their aspirations. Professionalism and their financial condition. “
Pandemic has stimulated entrepreneurs
Fenetic Wellbeing’s research follows previous studies that also show how the 2020 health crisis spurred a new breed of entrepreneurs. A study by Azlo, a banking platform for small business owners, freelancers and entrepreneurs, found that 96% of new entrepreneurs say the pandemic is spurring them to start their own businesses.
In addition to starting a business and investing in a company that is highly rated in search terms related to group listings, retirement early has proven a popular search term since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Improving credit scores and opening a savings account were among the top ten search terms for the most important things to do before you die.
Similar research by Fenetic Wellbeing confirms how the Covid-19 pandemic has led to a reassessment of their lives and work.
For the bold and intelligent entrepreneurs who have a desire to become their own boss, now could be the perfect time to enjoy their venture from the trumpets and start the businesses they have always dreamed of.
